a message from sra. rebolone morrison: week of Feb 11th, 2018
I hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I have been busy getting things ready for our 100th day of school, which is taking place on Tuesday, and I am growing more and more excited by the minute. I hope you have had a fun time creating something together for our 100th day celebration. What will everyone bring to showcase? I can't wait to see your creations!
Of course 100th day also means we get to go to school dressed up as if we are 100 years old. Thank you in advance for encouraging your children to participate and show their school spirit by joining in the fun. Tuesday is going to be a fun-filled day!
This week will be one of the busiest of the year! On Wednesday we celebrate Valentine's day and also get to meet a student from the University of Lethbridge who will be doing her second practicuum in our classroom in March and April. To celebrate Valentine's day we plan to do a card exchange and party in the afternoon, and to complete themed activities throughout the day. Thank you in advance for helping out with class party treats! If you are dropping off treats you can do so in the morning and I will make sure they make it to the fridge. If you need an extra class list to address Valentine's cards, please let me know and I can print another for you.
On Friday the Grade 1s are also celebrating Chinese New year. Our classes will take a paper dragon on parade around the school in celebration of the day and complete the celebration with various themed activities in class.
I will be sending out an announcement this week requesting various building materials as we begin work on our new Science unit: Building Things. If you have not signed up for Seesaw yet, please be sure to do so. This allows us all to stay connected and well-informed.
Have a wonderful week!
